The Heirs of Kharav
Goblinoids (Goblins, Hobgoblins, and Bugbears) are one of the oldest races on Kharav, often contesting the human claim of first native race on Kharav. The Goblin races originated in Derverek and quickly spread to Ketenal and Khavor. Today they are second only to humanity in terms of population. Maglubiyet is the patron of the goblinoid races and Hobgoblins in particular. Several dozen large goblin tribes inhabit and fight for control of Derverek, and the goblins on Ketenal and Khavor have formed two of the more powerful nations on Kharav.
Hobgoblins are thought to be the first of the goblinoid races, and have the most developed culture and greatest influence in goblin lands. Maglubiyet created Goblins and Bugbears to assist the earliest Hobgoblins, and they tend to remain subservient in goblin society to this day.
Hobgoblins tend to be fairly tall (from 6’ to 6’6") with skin color ranging from light orange to brick red and with dark, usually black, hair. Goblins are much shorter (from 3’2" to 3’8") with light green skin and tend to be bald, though some grow long, black hair. Bugbears are the largest goblinoid race (from 6’10" to 7’4") and are covered in fur that is usually light brown, but can sometimes approach the skin colors of the other goblinoids. Bugbears have flat heads and large ears, and the hair on their heads tends to be darker than that on their bodies.
Their reputation among other races is varied, though Hobgoblins are often respected for their natural cunning and leadership ability.
